Crero Crepe

Jun 22nd, 2009 • Category: Food (Nanda/Nanshida Area)

Passed by this place a couple days back. It’s a chain from Taiwan and it’s here in Nanjing near the junction of huaqiao road and shanghai road.
The crepes are not that authentic but do make for decent fast food, with the menu incorporating both the sweet and the savory. I tried the bacon cheese crepe [...]

Silk Road Xinjiang Restaurant

Jun 6th, 2009 • Category: Food (Nanda/Nanshida Area)

Best Xinjiang Restaurant in Nanjing!?!
If you’re like many foreigners in China you get a little tired of oily restaurant food and you’ve found Xinjiang food is a great answer to the problem of wanting to eat Chinese food but not wanting to spill excess oil all over the tabletop.
I find that the Silk Road on [...]

S.I.T Cafe

May 31st, 2009 • Category: Food (Nanda/Nanshida Area)

Sculpting in Time is near the central gate of Nanda. S.I.T Cafe is on your right side if you’re walking along Hankou Road with New Magazine Cafe on your left.
It has a really expansive seating situation but still feels cozy and reminds me of a lot of the nicer cafes back home.  I don’t think [...]

Talking

May 31st, 2009 • Category: Food (Nanda/Nanshida Area)

“Talking”is right across from the Nanshida gate and behind the beer drinking sidewalk. The staff is great, the food nice, and the beer drinking atmosphere gets better and better.
There is nice little patio to sit outside during the summer if you don’t like everyone you know walking by you on the sidewalk.  Go in and [...]

Only one year back, you had people asking online where you could find good burgers. Well, not burger king burgers, but real burgers…

Burger Corner started in 2008 and end in 2009. It was started by some overseas Chinese guy called Riely. They served premium burgers at premium prices - really good stuff. But. At those [...]

Paulaner Bräuhaus

Most of us have heard of PaulanerBräuhaus. German food and beer place. Munich sausage, pretzels, pork knuckle, sausages and of course home brewed Paulaner beer.
This place is huge, has a stage and dance floor for those who need a crowd. On the other hand, there are corners you can hide in with a group of [...]

Harbin Shuijiao

Way better than Daniang Dumplings!

Harbin Dumplings (or 哈尔滨水饺) is a local dumpling spot frequented by the laowai and the locals alike. Dumplings of all varieties can be had here for 2 to 3 kuai per liang (两, equal to 6 dumplings of one flavor). You can have your dumplings with hot soup, a cold beer, [...]
