在中国,中秋节(Zhong1Qiu1Jie2)是仅次于 (a near second to) 春节(Spring Festival)的传统节日。
每年农历(Lunar calendar) 8月15日,这时是一年秋季的中期(Mid-Autumn),月亮(Moon)也最大最亮(Biggest & Brightest)。有很多与它相关的中国民间故事(folk tales):

后羿射日(Hou Yi shooting the sun)
嫦娥奔月(Chang E flying to the moon)
吴刚伐树 (Wu Gang chopping the tree) 。

中秋节起源于(originate from) 祖先(ancestor)“拜月” (worshipping the moon) 活动,盛行(fashion) 在明朝( in Ming Dynasty)。中秋节有传统习俗(Tradition Customs)。
