it’s not the easiest place to find, but i checked. the address is as above. and the number is 86532244 (add a 025 in front). you have to call after 630pm though.
how to find it: luo lang xiang is the road flanking the sheraton kingsley hotel. it runs southward from the hotel. just keep walking south ward, and two streets and 7 mins later, you’ll see a barrel-doored bar on the left.

Boring place, bad service, good but way too expensive beer, and there’s that old white guy that’s always there like every night with his young Chinese hooker girlfriend that leers at all the women. Not the worst bar in Nanjing but most certainly not the best. Some nice yang rou chuan outside the bar though, and Ciao Italia and Studio 21 is just around the corner, too.
I always liked Nail bar until one day their waitresses told me to fuck off!!
I was there on a friday night recently and the place was packed. Every table in the place was full and they (finally) had some live music - well, a singer anyway, but the music was still at a volume where you could have a conversation. The new management must have really made some changes because the place was full.
I haven’t been there in ages, didn’t know they had Hoegaarden on tap! Gao Yan is a great guy though, and they have the best beer selection in Nanjing for sure. Downside I always thought was the small size and lack of people (ladies). If it picks up, I’ll head down there for sure on a regular basis, start off there, then onwards to Jimmy’s for pool and pizza. Sounds sweet to me.
The Nail bar is the most unique bar in Nanjing.
The decor, the selection of foreign beers, the music, everything about the place is good.
No other place is like this bar, it has an atmosphere and an ambience all of it’s own.
Sure other bars in Nanjing try to be like each other and have the same things as each other, not this bar.
You can even order food from the Hymalaya, Nepalese/Indian restaurant and have it delivered to your table.
Now I hear they are bringing in a foreign manager, to better help understand what the foreign contingent in Nanjing want, I hope this works !
Whatever happens with the other bars, the internet back biting and fighting, the slanderous comments about owners and managers, the bulls*** about bad food and bad drinks, this place remains aloft from it all.
Sure the beers are a little pricy, but what the hell, they are giving you the biggest selection of foreign imported beers, and the spirits are pretty cheap compared to other places.
True, one of few places you can actually have a conversation over a drink. Also you can choose music from a quite long list availiable at the bar.
Beer is quite expensive though.
Pretty quiet bar. (Ie, empty alot of the time). But a good place to talk and have a drink if you dont want pounding loud music over your beer.
Best Bar Ive been in Nanjing so far. Great ambience and you can smoke shisha, too.
Nail Bar has some damn good Belgian beers but they are expensive.
