You can locate this place at the junction of Guangzhou Road 广州路 [guang3zhou1lu4] and Shanghai Road 上海路 [shang4hai3lu4]. From the intersection, walk up north, and you’ll see a row of restaurants with flashy neon lights. This pub cum restaurant is the first of them.
Bluesky has been around for quite a bit, and is very much a sports bar. There’s the part of the place that’s specifically for eating your western-style dinner; and there’s the other part that’s the bar. People will come here just to have a beer, play pool, or watch contemporary sporting action.

How the fook does more people going to a place that serves garlic bread as ‘toast’ with their all day breakfast make it not suck? Have you eaten there recently, buddy? Most of the things on that overpriced menu are out of stock, well, that’s what the staff say if you can get their attention when their eyes are not fixated to some shitty Korean drama on the big screen. “Sports” bar my Irish arse, pal.
For the love of mike- wtf is the matter w/ u ? With so few watering holes that even serve beer COLD, let’s support them all. Start showing up at Blue Sky and maybe u can help it not suck. Go to Talking, maybe they can get a bigger place, etc. NJ would really suck if we had just one pub. Summer’s not over, drink more beer!

Here’s the difference, moron: Jimmy learns all of his customer’s names, as do his staff, and ALWAYS makes decent cocktails with a liberal dose of juice (try his gin and tonics if you think I’m lying), whereas Blue Sky has incredibly rude staff with shitty attitudes; fuck man, I ordered a Jaegermeister there once, the bottle was filled with tap water, after my ‘WTF is this’ outburst, they still tried charging me for it.
Jimmy’s has a great yet challenging pool table, Blue Sky has a table I could construct at home using my toilet seat with tampons on it. Jimmy will always talk to you if you go there alone, the staff at Blue Sky ignore you as if you’re a white pariah (which you probably are for going there in the first place). I also find Jimmy to be an open-minded guy willing to listen to his customers. You want to see South Africa slaughter the All Blacks at rugby? Ask him and he will accommodate. Wanna watch hockey? He’ll do his best to show it. Just don’t ask him to show curling championships though, that is teh ghey.
I could say more, but for the n00bs, go to Blue Sky on a Friday night (enjoy the drooling geriatrics there!), then go to Jimmy’s after and decide for yourselves. ‘Nuff said.
Internet battle? No my friend, this is beyond anything the ‘net can conjure up, this is a full-on assault, fists of fury to the gullet, chainsaw gutsfucking pounding of coagulated bloody knuckles, eyes gouged out in sadistic intent, limbs torn off in a drug-infused frenzy, death to posers sort of thing.
Well, that is until we can work which place has the most comfortable bar stools. This question has been plaguing the lushes at Jimmy’s and Blue Sky since their respective inceptions.
Hey what is it about that Internet battle between Jimmy’s and Bluesky. Of course they have a quite different style but does it make really sense to fight like this…..? Who likes Bluesky should go to Bluesky. Who likes Jimmy’s should go to Jimmy’s…….Very easy, very convinient…nobody has to be at a place he doesn’t like.
And both bars are good for the people who like it…in fact i go to both places once in a while when i am in the mood for Bluesky or Jimmy’s. Both serve cold beer, both serve food which is quite acceptable for a Barand in both bars you can spend a nice evening…just with people that have a different view on life
Blessed God above, what happened to this place? These days it’s crap overpriced food, horrible service, unfriendly staff and a bad and creepy old and miserable expat crowd to top it all off. There are way better places than this dump, what a disappointment really as the place has(had?) so much potential only to throw it all down the shitter. Jimmy’s or Talking ftw.

…if you are an overweight, 60year old Australian paedophile or a 16year old chinese ********* who doesn’t mind being ************** by the former! In all other respects- this place is terrible and I would choose Jimmy’s or Finnegans Wake any day.

Hi, Jimmys is far better the blue sky, the food (price and taste) and people (less fights) are better. but the staff here look better and are easyer to bag.
