Buying stuff at Metro

Metro 麦德龙 [mai4de2long2] is the best place to get all sorts of imported stuff, BUT there are two things to note concerning this place:
1. It’s far away from the center of the city.
2. You can only shop here IF you are a member.
If you’re price sensitive, then it might be good to check out the prices in places e.g. suguo, walmart or aochan first. That said, this is a very good place to get say rosemary and thyme, electronic good, ingredients for making your pasta or pizza etc.
Getting there: Of course, you can just take a regular cab. This place is near the 雨花台 [yu3hua1tai2] subway station. Tell the cabby to go to Ningli Road 宁涑路, and just mention Metro 麦德龙 [mai4de2long2]. They’ll figure.
Becoming a member: This usually means working for a MNC here i.e. being a BUSINESS CUSTOMER. But if you still want a shopping experience at Metro, do not be deterred. Just turn up and do your shopping. There will be many many people there who will line up behind members at the cash register. The key is being nice and 厚脸皮 (thick skinned) and asking if they can help you by swiping their card for you. The member’s card is needed for any purchase.
we’re about to take in two cats…….anyone know wherer the best stuff for cats is..ie. food, dishes toys baskets et al..?
No need for membership as a foreigner. Don’t bother bringing a passport or other documentation. Tell them you don’t have a card and they hand you a guest slip.
Foreigners don’t need no sticking membership — Just walk in.
or take the metro down to zhong hua men or andemen and take bus no 137 it ll get you there
just go to metro and tell them you are a student here and they will give you a temp card with which you can shop just one . you can keep doing this x no of times .
you dont really need a card tog get in
1. first, go to the junction of shigu road and zhongshan south road (where mcdonalds is).
2. walk further southward down zhongshan south road to the bus stop called 新街口南站 aka xinjiekou south stop.
3. this stop is in front of the bank of china.
4. take bus 27 from the “新街口南站” bus stop until you arrive at the “双龙街西站” bus stop.
5. metro is on the parcel of land adjacent to this road.
is there a bus that goes to Metro, say from Xinjiekou?
