Bamboo Thicket Short Cut

Mar 28th, 2006 under Discover Nanjing

If you decided at the entrance to the cable car station that you’re not a sissy and will walk instead, you’re on the right page.

You would have chosen to turn left onto the semi-cobbled path. Keep walking. At some point, you’ll see an opening on your right side. This is the steep slope that will take 30 to 45 minutes to scale. Very recognizable by the bamboo plants that line the pathway, a great help for those who need to catch on to something when climbing…

You know, at this point, most first-timers start to get excited. “An opening and a slope! What could be more interesting?” They start climbing with glee. This is no time to discourage yourself. Just grin like those chaps below!

After 30 minutes of more of heavenly monotony, you come to an open space where many people are. You’ll be surprised by the athletic prowess of some of the older Nanjing residents, and those old folks who hamstrings are more lengthened than many younger people.
