Xuanwu Lake Stroll (ii)

Coming from the White Horse Park area, there are many ways to enter the Xuanwu Lake area. The easiest way is to first find the Sun Palace 太阳宫 [tai4yang2gong1]. This building is actually a hotel plus other things.

In this picture, the model is waiting to cross a busy road. If you, like the aforementioned model, cross the road safely, your next task is to walk toward the lake with the Sun Palace on your left. On the way there, we saw these leaves that smell nice. I hear that they can be used to make matchsticks. Can anyone clarify this detail?

Anyway, you’ll soon progress onto the promenade at the side of the lake. Fishing is prohibited, but still you’ll see many people enjoying their day in the sun…

Can you imagine how heavy the fish must be to topple this fisherman over?

If fishing is not your idea of fun, there are other ways of toppling over, like trying to slip into a hammock. Although some blokes do fall off, most people were resting peacefully in hammocks that can be leased to you for a fixed period of time…

But we decided instead on something more stable…

Soon we had to go, and proceeded back to the White Horse Park stretch of road to take a bus home.
