The University of Chinese Medicine Affiliated Clinic houses many of the old Chinese Doctors.
It has moved in 2006 from it’s old location outside of the University to inside the university.
Walk through the main gate. There will be people in uniform standing by the gate. It’s fine, they won’t catch you. If you keep walking straight ahead, you’ll hit the building that houses the TCM Clinic…
What do I do once I arrive?
1. Register and get a number. Pay for consultation.
2. Wait for doctor, if it’s a herbalist. Go directly to the acupuncture clinic, if it’s acupuncture you seek.
3. If you’re doing acupuncture 针灸 [zhen1jiu1], then you’ll be poked by the doc, and will lie/sit there for about 30 to 60 minutes at a time. After that, you’re free to leave.
4. If you’re seeing the herbalist 中医 [zhong1yi1], then you’ll get a prescription upon exiting his room. To get your herbs, first bring the prescription to the cashier for payment. After that, bring the payment slip to the people at the herb packing place at the clinic. They will pack something for you. If you don’t like to cook herbs (because it may be a troublesome affair), bring the herbs to the herb cooking center at the clinic. They will cook it and put the herbal soup in packets for you to imbibe from.
