Suning Electrical Appliances

suning electronics

Suning Electronics is all over Nanjing, and is also at Xinjiekou. It is one place to buy electrical appliances like microwaves, washing machines, small suns and humidifiers. Other possible places are GOME, Yolo, Five Star…

From where we shot this picture, Wanda Shopping Center (which houses Walmart) is just on our left side. You have to cross Huaihai Rd 淮海路[hua2hai3lu4] to get to Suning from where the photographer is standing.

  1. [...] Stuff: A better sense of Xinjiekou | Carrefour | Walmart | Auchan | Metro | Convenience Stores | Suning | Zhujiang Road | [...]

  2. if you’re in Xinjiekou, don’t go to the Suning pictured above - instead go to the one underneath the Shanmao Plaza Tower on Zhongshan Nanlu (中山南路)this one is much larger and has a handful of English-speaking sales assistants.

If you’re unfamiliar with Chinese department stores then it’s worth noting that as soon as you even glance at something you’ll get bombarded with sales assistants who are all fighting for commissions. It’s also worth noting that once you’ve chosen something you DON’T pay the sales assistant - they will print an invoice which you must take to the cashier counter to make the payment and then you’ll receive the product when you bring back the payment receipt.

  3. yeah bro…even i heard that sunnin even pack ya the stuff which r on the racks…will make silly excuses for the prices…last year i bought n nokia 8600 which had a small crack when the seal was broken at 1st…they said its impossible for them to replace …hell

  4. If you totally must go to Suning, Go…but in my experience, I’ve gotten some defective phones which they did not replace and I had a reciept! They also have terrible customer service and less than 1% of people who work there can speak English, so best you take a Chinese friend with you. If you’re in need of electronics and you’re looking to save on money but get nearly the same in quality, your better off at Zhujiang Lu.
