Running Qinhuai River
Evening Runs Along Qinhuai
I just went running two weeks ago with Mirjam from Holland. She brought me on a running tour of Qinhuai Promenade…. all the way from Hanzhong Gate to the 1912-wannabe we call 水木秦淮 [shui3mu4qin2huai2]. Or translate it literally as Water-Wood Qinhuai.
The cool thing about jogging there in the evening is that the willow trees garland the entire pathway and sweep insensitively into your eyes. The bad thing is that you just have to keep running. By the way, this river is clean.
A Treatise On Running QInhuai River
The best way to enjoy the newly constructed Qinhuai River Promenade is to begin from the Hanzhong Gate.

See Hanzhong Road on the map above? From Hanzhong Road, instead of crossing the river at Hanzhong Gate Bridge, try following the pink arrow on the map. Go into and past the wet market (yellow), and you’re on your way…
Daylight shots for the night-blinded…

If you keep on walking you’ll chance upon an existing part of the old city wall…

And further on, the colorful lights of Water-Wood Qinhuai!
