…making sense of the city

Plum Blossom Mountain

Plum Blossom Moutain (Meihua Shan) is not another mountain. It is on Purple Gold Mountain, in the compounds of Ming Xiao Ling i.e. the Ming Emperor Tomb. It is next to where the Stone Animal Walkway lines the Sacred Path. The best time to see it is around the month of February (during the First Spring).

How to get there: If you’re taking a bus from the city center (e.g. #9 from Zhongshan East Road), stop at the Song Meiling Museum Stop. This is the place of the square citadel 四方城 [si4fang1cheng2]. Walk into the square citadel and turn left. You’ll then see the ticketing entrance into Stone Animal Walkway and the Ming Emperor Tomb. At the time of writing, you pay 30rmb to visit the Plum Blossom Mountain, and 70rmb to see enter the Ming Emperor Tomb.

For now, it’s just the Plum Blossoms…

Notice how the flowers here are white and not pink.
