Castle Bar is a local watering hole. It is usually not very busy. The atmosphere is casual and it is a comfortable place to go for a drink if you are in the neighborhood.
How to get there: Castle Bar is right next to the Gulou Subway Station, adjacent to a McDonalds and almost within view of Gulou Tower. It is on the east side of Central Road (also known as Zhongyang Lu).

Yea yea castle bar, not fake, yeah right! first i’ve heard from several sources that the liquor is not real, and the fact that your bartenders can’t make a drink their life doesn’t help the situation. but it’s no surprise, most of everything else here runs almost the same way in this country - fake expensive and targeted at foreigners, who these MF’s think are all rich.

A great place to go blind overnight. Seriously, they serve fake booze, so unless you want to have a killer-headache in the morning hammer yourself at home before coming and stick to beer when you arrive.
