Most people probably know this place by now. It’s one of the first residents of 1912.
Wew filipino bands rotate ever so often, and sing on the first floor (where the bar is). They are rather entertaining and if you can sing, they’ll let you try out. If you say please…
On Saturday nights, Blue Marlin hosts a Latin dance party on the second floor. People interested in learning can just turn up.
2 years ago, it was filled during the weekends with people watching the world cup. The screen’s huge, the place big, but on and off there were power glitches which transported me back to the time of silent movies.

That’s an understatement when talking about the Blue Marlin band. ‘There is no worse’ might be a more accurate statement
If you just want better, stand outside my house when I’m in the shower singing my heart out to annoy my neighbours.
Each to his/her own as they say and whatever floats your boat - but the Blue Marlin band is the most God awful and bland crap I’ve heard in many a year - IMO.
On the same note, Blue Marlin is also a submarine pub. Food is mediocre, service is pathetic (staff are generally stupid) and the drinks are awful enough to make you gag. Avoid the cocktails - you will be sort changed with cheap crap and very little of it as they hope the strong taste of the mixers hides the fact there’s nothing else there.
Like the title says, there is much better. Go to Jidi 77 Yinyue Jiuba near Xinjiekou. They make the Blue Marlin band look like a bunch of amateurs.
she’s one of the best singers i ever saw here in nanjing,thier band are really good! they have alot of repertoire and everybody has thier own to give whatever the guest wants to hear. keep it up guys,you’re the BEST! GOD BLESS!

Smashed @ blue Marlin @ 300 in pm. No cold beer, so they gave me my own personal ice bucket. Big points for flexibility and innovation. I agree Tia is so hot but didn’t see her 2day.
The food is good. The band there now is the best in Nanjing. A good friendly bar with decent live music at night.

yes, the portugal-england game was a heart stopper. 2 hours straight of anxiety driven soccer. the best place to sit if watching a game is in the area to the left of the aisle that follows from the main entrance.
if you sit on the high seats on the right, it is not as comfortable. if you sit on the sofas on the right (which are at the back) your line of vision to the big screen is cut off and you have to settle for the small tv above the bar counter.
