I’m thinking of starting an owner’s club for anyone who knows that the fastest way of getting around doesn’t involve waiting for a bus in the rain, cramming into a subway train with 5000 other people or spending 2 hours driving around Nanjing with a taxi driver who arrived from Anhui Province last week and has no local knowledge whatsoever.

ESL BAD BOYZ are back for the summer! ESL BAD BOYZ was formed a year ago, when some bikers decided to start a bike riding club, real bikes no pansy scooters! You need gears to join the steers!
We’re looking for more riders to join what is essentially Nanjing’s ONLY 2 legit 2 quit bike club. We meet every Sunday morning at McDonald’s near Castle Bar, after some Sausage Egg McMuffins (no vegheads here!) and a vanilla milk shake, we strap up and ride!
Membership fees are as follows:
120RMB for one year, plus 50RMB per month. You will be provided with a bandana of either the American flag or of an eagle on fire, with snakes pouring out if its nostrils (if you want both bandanas, add an extra 40RMB to the annual membership fee). Soon we will have patches made for our jackets - this club is LEGIT.
What you need:
- A ride, preferably a kick-ass one.
- A denim jacket with torn sleeves.
- A penchant for the finer things in life, such as ladies, cheap beer and good humor (Sanford And Son fans are especially welcome).
- A dislike for racists, bigots and Canadians.
- Respect for the rules of our club, for example, our ESL BAD BOYZ leader ALWAYS rides up front, and we ride in a pyramidical triangular formation, ALWAYS. RESPECT, HARD WORK = EARN WHAT YOU LEARN, ALWAYS.

hey all out there, i just spoke with a friend of mine who climbs there. it’s in this area where the tennis courts are, encircled by the the running track. you pay 40 to enter, or 20 if you’re a student. 90 a month. some pretty good climbers there. just a bouldering wall though. two years ago, there was this climbing club int he building with a chimmney across from what are now the VAnke apartments near mochou lake. maybe you can go ask if they are still there… but i think the rock wall no longer exists….

Workshop on acting with masks performad by norvegian and chineese students.
We are 12 norvegian and 12 cineese students who have worked together for 6 weeks on building and acting with different genres of masks.
There will also be a demonstration of some Chinees Opera tha we have learned in a movement class. You will see different types of masks. Some speachless and some who speak chineese and some who speak norvegian. The different maskgenres are to be found in the european theatre history. The presentation will last for about one hour. And its free. I hope you will find the way

hey i go to Nanjing university and i need to get an eyebrow piercing…where could i go that is clean and safe…it doesnt matter that is expensive i just need a place that i could trust..!! HELP!!!
Hey, there was kind of a crack down on street vendors over the summer, so they are much fewer and far between now. For some decent bbq, I would check the small restaurant on Yunnan lu called 福星烧烤, they do shao kao and clay pot rice. It’s on the West side of the road just about 100M or so North of Beijing Xi Lu just a bit South of Times Grocery. (Note: Yunnan Lu is the same street known as Shanghai Lu just South of Beijing Xi Lu).
In nicer weather I would head to Sanpailou off of Mofanma lu. There about 20 shaokao vendors set up in a nice little area on the east side of the street with permanent tables set up. Note that it is outdoors and there is little protection from rain and the elements.

I’ve been in Nanjing for a while, but I haven’t found any good shao kao (you know, the lamb or beef or vegetables or fish or mantou grilled on metal or wooden sticks with lots of spices). Anybody have a favorite street corner or restaurant with great barbecue?
There’s the list of places here, some of them loud and dance-friendly, but for your needs, check out blue marlin, i think it’s middle ground between overly loud music (elsewhere) and overly quiet restaurant places.
also check out the french place soul mate in the nanda area. the people are really nice and friendly there.

I think , in Nanjing , there are some family which come back from oversea must have the same problem on kid’s english keeping, so not only welcome those foreigner family, but also welcome those family have similar experience with me.
Mothers can discuss if there have some other way to help kid learn english, for example, we can read an english story for kids, and then ask them some questions related the story to see if they already understood. or we can ask one of mum whose english is excellent to give kids an lively english class , or we can play some english game, etc.
Just imagin, while kids playing, mums have a chat with a cup of coffee, mums can communicate education, local culture, fashion, cooking…….give the kid and ourselves a break after a busy week.
