The people who make up the team all share the vision of an online community where useful information is passed to and fro. If you look below, you’ll realize that it’s the users who have been telling us what works best.

Please leave positive feedback if you have benefited from the site e.g. found an apartment, met a friend etc…

Thank you for the long list of feedback and contributions!!

Thanks to one and all for supporting!!

  1. already possible -
—> i like that people state clearly what they like or didn’t like.
—> i like the unbiased review of jimmys.
    —> i like ‘real’ discussion.

    if possible -
—> no need to get to personal
—> no point having silly ramblings in gaellic/irish/nonsense english by people who need to get a life
—-> what about other places? are these the only places in nanjing worth eating at?

scoring systems are good, but written comments are more personal.

  2. Not sure about some of the whinning and cloudtrapezer’s post, but I think its ok to state if you tried a place and didnt like it, that helps me decide if I should try it or not, I just dont think its ok for others to personally attack someone just because they didnt love a certain place as much as you. Maybe a restaurant review format where people can leave reviews and scoring for restaurants, though hard to keep it regulated if all users are anonymous….

  3. Sorry, I wasn;t referring to the Finnegan’s reviews… its other posts I refer to!

  4. What’s happened to NanjingNow? It used to be useful, informative & worth a read. Now it is just overrun by little boys moaning at eachother! For those complaining about certain bars or eateries in Nanjing, just don’t visit there again. We are in China and its great, but not the same as home, ok?! And for those people getting wound up by complaints etc, just let them wash over your head & be happy in the knowledge that you enjoy life here…

In other words, can you all give the primary school whining a rest please?!

  5. dear mr. finnegans wake:

great to hear about a new place that others can frequent. if at all you have a contact email, and want to write about the bar, and give further information, please feel free to leave another note.

  6. HI,

I got no time to save your number so please email me again your contact name, and number at : lahutaywhd@msn.com
We are still busy looking for an apartment to live somewhere in muxuyuan dajie, so i will keep in touch with you when we are settled in our new apartment.
    Thank you very much.

  7. introducing the weather vane.
man, it did take quite a bit, but here it is! the weather vane…
we’d like to introduce you to the insurance of knowledge. yes, on the top left hand corner…
it took several days of work and editing, simple as that seems…

    hope you readers like it.

  16. Hi Pashley,

    Thanks for suggesting Koh-I-Noor.

Yes, it’s a great place and we’ve already asked them about whether they have a christmas special, but not really, so that’s why they will not be up this time.

That said, tomorrow is a very special day for Pakistani Moslems, and the RMB78/person buffett will probably interest you.

For everyone else, the reservations number is 83122522.

  17. Ramada mention Christmas specials at some of their restaurants.

What about Koh-I-Noor, the Indo-Pakistani place on the second floor? Their food is generally excellent, so I’d be interested in their Christmas specials,if any.

  21. Good stuff. Nanjing needs this.

    Other sites worth linking to:

Raoul’s China Expat Saloon, a discussion board with people from across China, run by a guy in Suzhou.
    http://raoulschinasaloon.com/

Wikitravel, a free worldwide travel guide created by web-based collaboration. It is a wiki, so anyone can edit. Coverage of China is spotty, anywhere from brilliant to ghastly (or missing altogether) for different areas.

Methinks many here might find the China overview useful:
    http://wikitravel.org/en/China

The Nanjing article is less useful; perhaps some here could improve it:
    http://wikitravel.org/en/Nanjing

We know you guys are working hard to make Nanjingnow grow day by day. I think the Homepage is a little simple, maybe we can add the Weather report on the Homepage including the future 2 days. What do you think?

  36. Thanks kate and fthirsby for your feedback.

  37. good site.
check your spelling of “Espanol” on your hoome page.

  38. Hey there- this site is great- and I know you guys are working away at improving it - keep up the good work!

One thing that would be really helpful would be if the postings in the various sub-sections could list in reverse order. Currently the oldest ones are at the top of the page and you have to scroll down and down and down to get to the newest ones.

Not sure how tricky this is to do….but if it’s not too much trouble - I think it would be a big organizational improvement to have the newest ones list first.

  39. ok.me alegro y estoy viendo que es una buena institucion.solo el animo,la unidad y la fuerza.
